Where Healing Begins
Willow Place is a registered Canadian charity and member of Shelter Safe Canada and the Women and Gender Equity (WAGE) violence prevention program network in Manitoba, Canada. Willow Place provides inclusive, no-cost supports for those dealing with family violence, gender-based violence and intimate partner violence, including 24-hour crisis supports and our shelter program.
The largest and most-utilized violence prevention shelter program in Manitoba, Willow Place counts 9,000 stays in an average year and fields more than 6,500 crisis support calls annually. In 2022-2023 we counted over 13,400 shelter stays, an increase of 30%! The shelter program supports women and children, but we also provide counselling and intake (separate facility) for males and male-identifying individuals. Male services are provided in collaboration with community partners. Other supports include community outreach, follow up services, housing supports, children's services and public education.
