About WINDSOR - ESSEX THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSOCIATION (WETRA)
WETRA provides equine physical and cognitive therapy to over 200 children and adults with various disabilities. Through EAAT (Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies), participants will gain a sense of freedom and independence, experience unique accomplishments, interact socially, and learn new skills. Therapeutic Riding provides individuals with special needs an opportunity to experience physical and mental health therapy, exercise safely and partake in the thrill of horseback riding while gaining much needed core strength, balance and social acceptance. All of these take place in a welcoming and success-oriented farm setting.The association has a staff of certified riding instructors who are constantly updating their knowledge, a team of 21 therapy horses and over 100 dedicated volunteers.
