MISSION
WIFF is a cultural, charitable organization that celebrates the art of cinema by showcasing Canadian and international films and filmmakers. Delivering exceptional experiences through film, WIFF strengthens and enriches the community and beyond while promoting the creative economy.

Les Films Francophones
WIFF is delighted to showcase a compelling slate of Francophone films covering various genres. In 2023, the 54 Francophone films screened at WIFF comprised 29% of the overall programming. This is the most significant number of Francophone feature films of any film festival in Canada (including Québec). We have a deep commitment to celebrating and supporting Francophone films.
Women of WIFF
The Women of WIFF program thrives through the generous support of individuals committed to empowering women's voices, celebrating women filmmakers, and sharing their stories during the film festival and year-round screenings.
Educational Screenings
Engaging youth and reducing barriers to introducing our community and beyond to film's beauty and educational aspects is essential to us. We engage and partner with local school boards and equity-deserving communities to bring families and youth to our theatres for enlightening film experiences.
Twentieth Anniversary 2024
In 2024, WIFF is proud to be celebrating its 20th anniversary. The Festival commences on October 24th and ends on November 3rd. WIFF will show over 180 feature films with over 300 screenings and operates year-round to engage youth, celebrate filmmakers, and enrich the culture of the community and far beyond.
