Connecting people through music!
The Windsor Symphony Orchestra (WSO) connects the people of Windsor Essex County through the power and passion of music.
It is a professional regional orchestra made up of 43 musicians, alongside dedicated staff and crew, and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Since its establishment in 1947, the orchestra has grown from a group of volunteers into a talented ensemble of professional musicians. Robert Franz has served as the Music Director since 2013 until his passing this past September 2, 2025. James Sommerville is the Artistic Advisor.
In addition to the main orchestra, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra also encompasses the Youth Orchestra, Community Orchestra, and Community Chorus.
