Far too many Canadian women and children live in poverty. The JudyLynn Archer Endowment Fund aims to change that and she invites you to join the effort.
The Fund will help cover tuition and housings costs in perpetuity for women enrolled in Women Building Futures’ programs and/or Women Building Futures’ onsite housing.
JudyLynn Archer is the Founding CEO and President of Women Building Futures (WBF). Upon her retirement at the end of 2016 she established this endowment fund with a personal donation of $100,000 as a way to acknowledge all the people who helped build the organization to what it is today; and to continue her life’s passion for helping women to be ‘in the driver’s seat’ as they go forward in life.
WBF’S VISION remains as strong today as when it was established, and that is “Valued for empowering women to succeed in non-traditional careers, inspiring positive economic change for women and forever transforming the face of industry in Canada”. WBF’s MISSION is “helping women transform their lives by preparing them for prosperous careers in industries where women have been under-represented such as construction, maintenance and transportation”. These careers are transformation for women and their families. The Fund will help to ensure that lack of money doesn’t get in the way of women wanting to achieving this goal.
WBF PROGRAM SUCCESS INDICATORS
- 95% of Women Building Futures’s graduates become employed in construction and maintenance trades,
- the average increase in income for WBF graduates is 157% on day one of hire,
- 35% of WBF students identify as being Indigenous,
- 94% of WBF Employer Partners recommend hiring a WBF graduate
The Fund is managed and invested by the Edmonton Community Foundation. Each year a percentage of the Fund will be provided to Women Building Futures to help cover tuition and WBF housing costs, for women enrolled in WBF training programs. It’s JudyLynn’s aim to build the Fund from her initial $100,000 contribution to $1,000,000 by the end of 2020; helping hundreds of women graduate from WBF and start their new career.
Please consider supporting this proven strategy for reducing the number of Canadian women and children living in poverty.
Making the lives of Canadian women better makes it better for everyone. Thank you for joining this effort!
