Women’s House provides a safe haven for victims/survivors, knowing that ending violence is a community responsibility.  We will work towards ending violence through knowledge, which is power, in order to create change.

About WOMEN'S HOUSE SERVING BRUCE & GREY

Women's House is a 13 bed residential emergency shelter local to Bruce County with free, confidential in-house and outreach counselling services, as well as toll free crisis and support phone lines (519-396-9655 & 1-800-265-3026) which are answered by a Counsellor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  In addition to the safe shelter and in-house counselling programs, we provide Child Witness Counselling and Community Outreach Counselling to several communities across Bruce & Grey Counties (Chesley, Durham, Hanover, Kincardine, Markdale, Owen Sound, Port Elgin, Southampton, Walkerton and Wiarton).  Another program that helps women and children leaving unsafe environments is the Second Stage Program which consists of Transitional Housing units in Wiarton, Port Elgin and Kincardine. These apartment units are geared-to-income and feature a safe and secure environment to allow women to transition comfortably back to their communites after surviving abuse and isolation.  Women's House also provides Sexual Assault Counselling and advocacy to both Counties and has a toll-free support line specific to sexual assault 1-866-578-5566.
