Young Voices Toronto (formerly the High Park Choirs of Toronto) offers children aged 4 to 18 the opportunity to advance their musical skills with the guidance of our highly acclaimed artistic staff. We teach children the fundamentals of music, expressive singing in a group, professionalism and appreciation for Canada’s rich multicultural musical heritage.
Young Voices Toronto provides children with an atmosphere of inclusiveness, fun, teamwork and cultural diversity. The choir provides opportunities for innovative collaborations and partnerships with other arts organizations to promote its beautiful and unique sound.
About Young Voices Toronto
Young Voices Toronto (YVT) has created a buzz about sound - organic, beautiful, shimmering sound - for more than 30 years. Founded by soprano Ann Cooper Gay as the High Park Girls Choir, YVT grew in size and reputation Under the leadership of highly respected conductor, educator and adjudicator, Zimfira Poloz (Artistic Director 2004-2017).
Now, in it's 31st season under the leadership of new Artistic Director, Maria Conkey, YVT looks to continuing our history of musical excellence and building a community which celebrates each individual chorister’s musical and personal growth.
YVT is the Children's Choir-in-Residence at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music.
