WHO WE ARE

Youth Employment Services Manitoba (YES Manitoba) provides free, inclusive employment and education support services to young Manitobans between the ages of 16 to 29. 

HOW WE DO IT

By creating responsive programming and services that empower youth and provide a safe(r) and supportive environment where they can learn new skills, develop confidence in themselves, and feel supported during their transition to employment.

WHY WE DO IT

To create opportunities for youth to become engaged members of their community through developing their employability skills, helping them gain meaningful employment, and exploring further education and training. Our purpose is to prepare youth in realizing their potential to become self-sufficient and contribute to our province’s growth and prosperity.

PROGRAMS & SERVICES

YES Manitoba provides comprehensive one-on-one support through our through our dedicated team of Employment Facilitators. We also provide access to reliable computer systems with internet; connections to employers and direct training programs; assistance with résumé and cover letter writing; job searching support; interview preparation; career and education exploration; and assessment of and training in employability skills and those life skills that help find and maintain employment.

We provide free in-house workshops and presentations for participants; provide community workshops and information booths, offer free training including CPR/First Aid, SmartChoices, Food Handlers, and WHIMIS; referrals to other agencies for assistance, and participant advocacy.

YES Manitoba is also proud to be the contract holder for the Futures Forward program, which provides free, wrap-around, and holistic supports for youth transitioning out of the child welfare system in Manitoba, with a focus on obtaining employment and/or accessing post-secondary education. Like all of YES Manitoba’s services and supports, Futures Forward programming strives to be participant-led and tailored to individual needs and unique barriers that each youth faces in their employment and education journey.

Through our Education Program, we also offer dedicated career development programming to Manitoba high school students ranging from grades 9 to 12. We deliver workshops and presentations that directly link classroom learning to workplace and labour market realities throughout the school year.
