Our Mission
Zata Omm — Zen And The Actualization Of Modern Movement — is a Toronto-based contemporary dance company and a registered charitable non-profit organization.
Our mission is to explore and express the evolving human experience through boundary-pushing, interdisciplinary contemporary dance. We create compelling stage works that thoughtfully integrate dance with technology and other art forms, offering audiences new ways of seeing and engaging with the world around them.
Through ongoing artistic research and experimentation, Zata Omm continually responds to the current cultural landscape, while contributing to the future of contemporary performance. Our productions are recognized for their distinctive aesthetic, emotional resonance, and ability to humanize complex technological elements.
We are committed to:
-
The creation of original, thought-provoking dance works
-
The development of a diverse and evolving choreographic repertoire
-
The presentation and dissemination of our work through performances, research, film, and education
-
Collaboration with outstanding artists across disciplines, both locally and internationally
-
Fostering innovation within Canada’s dance and performing arts communities
Our work aims to inspire, challenge, and connect — advancing contemporary dance as a vital art form in the 21st century.
