The 4-H British Columbia Foundation is a non-profit organization, incorporated in 1979, to provide an opportunity for interested individuals, organizations, and companies to financially contribute to the 4-H BC movement and to assist the 4-H BC Provincial Council to support additional programs and services.

Donations to the 4-H British Columbia Foundation are invested in perpetuity. This means that donations are invested forever. The earned interest is directed to existing and new 4-H programs annually. This is an excellent opportunity as a 'friend of 4-H' to invest in the future of 4-H, or as a 4-H alumni to give back. Additionally it is a wonderful way for family and friends to contribute memorial donations, in honour of those who believed in 4-H, who are no longer with us.

The 4-H program provides young people with an opportunity to learn how to become productive, self-assured adults who can make their community and country a better place in which to live. This is fostered through project and program work, experiences with their 4-H club members and leaders and their participation in district, regional and provincial programs.

The goal of the 4-H program is youth development. The objectives of 4-H clubs are knowledge, leadership, citizenship and personal development.

The 4-H motto is "Learn to Do by Doing"

4-H stands for HEAD, HEART, HANDS AND HEALTH. The 4-H pledge describes the significance of the four H's:
