Abbeyfield is a small non-profit home for independent seniors.  We are located on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.  Abbeyfield has been operating since 2001 and has supported  many elderly people as they transition to a new phase of life where they no longer want to live alone, cook or grocery shop. Abbeyfield provides home cooked meals, companionship, and support staff.  Our mission is:  "To provide affordable housing for seniors where they receive good nutrition, security, companionship and support and to provide our staff with a safe work place where they feel valued."  Residents enjoy, weekly exercise classes, craft days, parties and a spacious garden.  We are run by a very hands on board of directors and a dedicated staff.  Volunteers help fill in the gaps doing odd jobs, and helping in the garden.
