Ability First Ottawa (AFO) is a charity organization that provides comprehensive services and support to individuals with disabilities (ages 10 to 70) and their families.  Services include our weekly "Awesome Mondays" Life Skills and Training Program, the Housing Navigation Program and the Parent Support Program.

The weekly Awesome Mondays Life Skills and Training Program:  AFO offers weekly sessions in order to provide life skills and training as well as social get-togethers and field trips for our participants.  Frequently community leaders donate their time to teach classes in their specialty.  Some of our past activities include:  zero-waste art; budgeting, dance, meditation and reiki, cooking, community outings.

Parent/Guardian Support:  AFO provides resources to parents that helps them create better lives for themselves and their loved ones with disabilities.  This includes a comprehensive intake session that will guide parent/guardians through the various funding and support services available to them and their loved ones with disabilities.  We also have development service workers available for families to obtain respite support.

Housing Navigation Program:  AFO offers comprehensive housing navigation services to individuals with disabilities, who are currently homeless or at risk of being homeless.  The goal of the program is to provide participants with the opportunity to thrive independently in a safe, affordable accommodations.
