The Royal Canadian Air Cadet Program is a national youth organization for young men and women aged 12 to 18. The program is designed to encourage youth to become active, responsible members of their communities. It is a partnership with the Canadian Armed Forces designed to teach the importance of teamwork, community service and develop strong leadership skills in a fun and challenging environment. Air Cadets are introduced to Air activities and traditions of the Canadian Armed Forces but are not expected or required to join the military. They learn the principles of aviation and some even obtain pilot's licenses. While the Department of National Defence supplies funding for core training activities, additional money is required to allow for the many valuable extra-curricular activities the 614 Forest City Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron and its network of officers and volunteers deliver that keep Cadets engaged and allow us to help foster the leaders of tomorrow.
