Akiing Onji Foundation Inc. is an Indigenous-led charitable organization that grew out of a shared passion to promote and preserve Indigenous cultures and languages through culturally appropriate education programs, workshops, training and activities for the Indigenous community in Manitoba.
The goal of Akiing Onji Foundation is to foster a sense of learning by restoring memory of Indigenous cultural heritage and aid the reclamation of identity through the reconnection of language, culture, and traditions.
Founders of Akiing Onji are Eva Wilson-Fontaine, Team Leader of Anish Corporation (www.anish.ca), a non-profit organization and E. J. Fontaine, owner and President/CEO of Amik Inc. (www.amik.ca), Canada’s #1 leader in Indigenous workforce and community engagement & training services.
