Our Mission

The main goal of Alamelu Children's Homes (ACH) is to support the children at the Sri Kanyakumari Gurukula Ashram (SKGA)just outside the town of Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, India. We are a small volunteer organization, so that virtually all the money we collect goes to the children to support their daily needs, health care, and education. SKGA is a registered charity in India and houses about 150 destitute and homeless children, and often their mothers.

About 15 years ago SKGA started a school on their property; it has an excellent record and also serves neighbouring villages. SKGA has also organized free daycare centres in villages closeby. Alamelu Children's Homes(ACH) has a Agency Agreement, sanctioned by Canada Revenue Agency, allowing us to officially support the work of SKGA.
