In 1989 a group of women concerned with the lack of long term programs to assist families leaving domestic or family violence came together and founded Alpha House Project Inc.  In 1994, Alpha House opened their doors and have been serving women and children who have fled violence and have the opportunity to heal from the trauma in a safe secure environment.  "I know for a fact that I couldn't have made it without Alpha House.  I'm no longer looking back, I'm living each day to the fullest.  A healthy future for me and my son is more than I could ask".

Alpha House provides comprehensive programming in a residential setting consisting of individual counselling for women and children, support groups, parenting support, individualized educational support, food support, advocacy, 12 month residency, workshops, follow up program all in a safe secure facility.
