Since it was founded in 1992, the Annapolis West Health Foundation (AWHF) has worked to enhance health and wellness services in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis West region. 

The Foundation serves a large area of Annapolis County, Nova Scotia and our health services and wellness programs are available to people living in over 35 communities.

The AWHF plays a crucial role in facilitating initiatives that address community-specific health needs and strengthen social connections. We support active living programs and services that address problems specific to our rural setting and we encourage creative, locally-based solutions for sustainable community wellness.

The Annapolis West Health Foundation has always been about supporting the healthcare needs of the people in the communities of Annapolis West. The Annapolis Community Health Centre and the two collaborative practices based in Annapolis Royal are their first stop for health care.

Working with our community partners we currently give financial support in seven key areas:

1. Van Transportation Program
2. Palliative Care Program
3. Annapolis County Seniors Safety Program
4. Equipment Funding Program (Annapolis Community Health Centre)
5. Fundy YMCA
6. Diabetes Foot Care Program
7. Education Program (Financial support for post-secondary students  our communities who enter the health services fields.)

OUR VISION: Ensuring sustainable funding to enhance quality health and wellness initiatives.

OUR MISSION: To complement the health care system in Annapolis West through the promotion and financial support of selected health and wellness initiatives, programs, services and equipment within the sustainable resources of the Foundation.
