BCFHRS serves children, aged birth to five years, who are deaf or hard-of-hearing in a family-centred environment.
The BC Family Hearing Resource Society is the largest agency in the province serving the families of children from birth to age five who are deaf or hard of hearing and/or who have speech and language learning challenges.
Our family-centred services have evolved and grown over 35 years and are designed to meet the unique needs of very young children and their families. When care is family-centred, parents are an essential and equal partner in their children’s services. Our highly qualified clinicians are experts in speech, language, communication and hearing development, and work as a team to provide you with the most up-to-date treatment strategies. While our services are primarily directed toward children, we also help parents acquire the skills and information they need to help their children succeed. We conduct research, as well as provide training and consultation to other professionals across the province.
