Bad Hats Theatre is an independent theatre company in Toronto, Ontario.

Founded in 2015, Bad Hats is known for presenting award-winning, innovative theatre created by multidisciplinary ensembles. The artists we employ come from various training backgrounds and we believe the celebration and incorporation of their unique voices and skillsets in our highly collaborative process is intrinsic to our success.

With an emphasis on programming for young people and families, our mandate focuses on creating new works and adaptations that feature physical storytelling and original music. We want young people who view our work to be inspired to imagine, and let that imaginative quality inspire our adult patrons to redesign the world their children are inheriting. We don't endeavour to educate young people, but rather to unlock their world view and learn from it.As a company, we are continuously and ambitiously pushing the norms of what is possible within “independent theatre”, cultivating and refining our style to build a platform upon which to expand our team, reach, and voice.
