Our Mission

The BC Society of Transition Houses (BCSTH) is a member-based, provincial umbrella organization that, through leadership, support and collaboration, enhances the continuum of services and strategies to respond to, prevent and end violence against women, children and youth.

About BC Society of Transition Houses

We began in 1978 with 6 members, became incorporated as a society in 1984, and now represent 65 Transition Houses, 28 Safe Homes, 29 Second Stage Programs, 3 Third Stage Programs and 86 PEACE (Prevention, Education, Counselling, Advocacy, Empowerment) programs.

Our goal is to amplify the voices of these vital services and to work for systemic social change which prevents and ultimately ends violence against women, children and youth.

What We Do

BCSTH supports anti-violence workers in British Columbia by providing advocacy, training, research and resource development. Through leadership and collaboration, we act as a liaison and coordination point between our members, governments and other stakeholders.
