About BEREAVED FAMILIES OF ONTARIO - MIDWESTERN REGION

Bereaved Families of Ontario – Midwestern Region provides peer grief and bereavement support to families and individuals in Waterloo Region and Guelph and Wellington County. We have been providing our support services for more than 20 years.

All of our programs are facilitated by volunteers who are themselves bereaved and offered free of charge in the community. We provide programs for parents who are grieving the death of an infant, parents grieving the death of a child and a general, mixed loss group (Living with Loss) for adults grieving the death of a loved one. We also offer a Living with Loss group specifically for individuals grieving a death by substance use. Our Healing Little Hearts Program (for children 4-12) is our only program run by a professional and features an educational component for parents and caregivers.

In addition to our programming, we provide opportunities for education and outreach and also offer two memorial events during the year which allow the bereaved community to memorialize their loved ones, and connect and acknowledge their loss in a community who understands.
