Canadian Congenital Heart Alliance (CCHA) is the only national organization supporting for children and adults living with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD).
1 in 100 – That is the number of Canadian children born with a congenital heart defect, making it Canada's #1 birth defect. In the past, few made it beyond their teen years but thanks to incredible medical advancements today 95% will survive into adulthood.

Most will require specialized, life-long cardiac care. Those with complex defects face the prospect of complications, multiple surgeries and/or premature death. Many will struggle with anxiety, depression, isolation and financial hardship.
