History
The Bellevue Underground Mine began its transformation into a tourist destination in 1990, when the Crowsnest Pass Ecomuseum Society re-timbered 300 meters of the original haulage level of the Bellevue Western Canadian Collieries. What started as a modest operation attracting an average of ten visitors per day has grown to welcome over 13,000 visitors annually, with an average of 110 visitors daily during the peak season.
