The Disabled Sailing Association of British Columbia, Okanagan Branch, has an exciting new program name, ADAPTIVE SAILING KELOWNA (acronym ASK), which adds to the changing and expanding array of programs offered and the growing community of participating users. Disabled Sailing Association of BC, Okanagan Branch, started sailing in 1993 and has been going strong ever since! We are a charitable organization which offers people with physical and cognitive challenges the opportunity to sail on beautiful Okanagan Lake from the Kelowna Yacht Club and to feel safe, secure, and one-with-the-water, in our specially designed (untippable!) Martin 16 sailboats. They learn to skipper themselves, or take a leisurely ride around Okanagan Lake piloted by a qualified expert sailor.
Great for: People with cognitive or physical disabilities, injuries, hip replacements, fractures, strokes, brain, spinal cord, sight, fibromyalgia, hearing, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, autism and other adaptabilities. Also great for Seniors with mild to severe limitations. We have a custom lift available and can adapt the boat to accommodate sailors to have a great sailing experience!
