Prairie Strides Inc., a charitable non-profit organization that was formed in 1977.  Prairies Strides offer adaptive horseback riding programs for children, aged 5 to 15 years of age, with disabilities. Adaptive riding can help children with diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, visual impairments, autism and other developmental challenges. 

Riding sessions are conducted by trained adaptive riding instructors in conjunction with volunteer physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists.

Prairie Strides receives no government assistance. Fundraising and donations are the lifeline to keeping the program operational. The organization is run by a volunteer Board of Directors and one office staff.
