À propos

North Shore Search and Rescue is a not for profit volunteer search and rescue team and registered charity.

Located in Sudbury and Espanola, Ontario, we are the collective effort of volunteers from various professions who bring their skills and experience together to provide assistance to all authorities when requested by Police to conduct search and rescue operations. Our team also performs remote area and marine rescues not accessible by emergency services.
The strength of our team relies completely on the commitment of its volunteers and is dependent upon the generous assistance from businesses, organizations and citizens to support our fundraising efforts. No volunteer search and rescue teams in the province of Ontario receive any regular funding from any level of government, be it municipal, provincial or federal. Search and rescue in Ontario is a free service.
Our area of operations includes the municipalities and areas of Greater Sudbury, Blind River, Elliot Lake, Espanola, West Nippissing, Cartier, Parry Sound, Killarney, Manitoulin Island, and all in between. This geographic area (approximately 12,000 square kilometers) encompasses a full-time population in excess of 283,000 people with many more seasonal residents & visitors. These include children, elderly, hikers, hunters, and fisherman, among others.
