This is the last Ogilvie Flour grain elevator in Alberta and one of only a handful remaining in Western Canada! Please help us save it!
OWGES plans to restore the 1925 Ogilvie Flour grain elevator located in Wrentham, Alberta with some essential architectural/structural improvements to allow it to withstand the tests of time! The interior of the elevator is in reasonable shape and offers the opportunity for a rare glimpse inside the inner workings of a prairie icon.
Our future plan is to have this elevator as a working museum.
Our Society is a registered non-profit with the Province of Alberta and also a registered charity with the Canadian Revenue Agency. To our knowledge, this is the last remaining wooden Ogilvie grain elevator left in Alberta!
In August 2022 we had our elevator 3d scanned by the University of Calgary, our elevator was the first wooden grain elevator to be digitized in the province of Alberta!
