About ONTARIO HEADWATERS INSTITUTE
Established in 2003, the OHI initially focused on headwaters, the foundation of our watersheds as well as our economic and social vitality.
In 2018, we expanded our mandate include full watershed management, natural heritage, and the health of receiving waters such as the Great Lakes.
We address these issues through three portfolios: research, education, and civic engagement. The latter works on collaborative efforts in partnership with other organizations sharing a common cause.
Past collaborative efforts include facilitating numerous community discussions, including community events on headwaters, the Provincial Policy Statement, and WaterScapes I II.
For 2020, we are pleased to announce WaterScape III, to develop a renewed policy framework to ensure resilient landscapes and healthy water across South-central Ontario.
Donations will be used to support presentations, travel, facility rental, social media outreach, and staff time for those activities, the production of the next drafts of the policy framework, and soliciting endorsements for the final document. You can read more at www.waterscape.ca.
If you wish, you can make a small and/or anonymous donation. We will also list on our website those who wish to be acknowledged, under the following headings: Bronze: $25 - $49.99; Silver: $50 - $99.99; or Gold: $100.00 and above.
