Opal's mission is to help individuals with disabilities and their families thrive.

As a non-profit agency, Opal’s mission is to serve families who have a child or adult dependent with disabilities, by coordinating respite care, social and recreation programs, through a network of community partnerships, volunteers, and support workers. 

About Opal

Opal Family Services provides respite and support along with 9 core programs to over 180 families in the Fredericton and surrounding area who have children or adult dependents with disabilities.  We provide a summer camp called Camp Wonder, an afterschool program called Kids Club, a weekly Youth Group (ages 12-19) and a Social Recreation program ("Drop in") for adults. The parents also receive family networking activities to socialize and connect with other parents. Opal has been in operation since 1984.
