Operators Without Borders (OWB) is a registered Canadian charity formed in 2017 in response to thedevastating effect on water utilities that hurricanes had in the Caribbean. Our mission is to assist waterand wastewater utilities in developing countries to recover from disaster situations and to build capacitythrough training and mentoring water and wastewater operators. OWB is a voluntary organization ofcertified Operators who help their counterparts in developing countries.

Our Mandate

To provide certified, volunteer water and wastewater operators to support utilities in developingcountries following emergency and disaster situations to ensure that safe drinking water andwastewater management services are resumed. To further assist by providing volunteers to mentor andtrain developing countries’ utilities water and wastewater Operators.

Vision

To have a team of highly qualified, volunteer water and wastewater Operators provide the support required to enable people to have access to safe drinking water and suitable sanitation at all times in all places.

Mission

To provide certified, volunteer water and wastewater Operators who can support utilities in developing countries following emergency and disaster situations to ensure that safe drinking water and wastewater management services are resumed.  To further assist by providing volunteer Operators to mentor and train developing countries utilitys' water and wastewater Operators. 

What is Operators Without Borders? 

Operators Without Borders is a voluntary organization of Canadian Operators who help their counterparts in Caribbean counties. The volunteers help in three ways:

1. Providing post-disaster recovery for water and wastewater utilities
2. Mentoring and training Caribbean utility Operators
3. Providing recycled equipment.
