PEN is a not-for-profit, charitable organization offering essential programs to support the most important role of all, parenting.
Our Mission
The Parent Education Network builds communities by teaching parenting skills. We are committed to helping parents develop the tools needed to meet the challenges of parenting through a program that emphasizes encouragement, empowerment, and mutual respect. We believe that helping parents and caregivers gain knowledge and confidence in their parenting abilities can reduce the incidence of behaviour problems, conflict, and child abuse in our homes, schools, and communities.
Our mission is to enrich the quality of family life and promote the development of children into happy, secure, self-sufficient, emotionally robust adults capable of becoming good parents and constructive citizens in their own turn.
About PEN
Parent Education Network has proudly been providing quality parenting workshops and courses in the community since 1974.
Our Parenting programs are provided in community locations and in schools across Toronto. Workshops are two hours long, and in this short time, parents learn practical strategies that they can use right away.
Courses meet once a week over several weeks, giving parents an opportunity to try new ideas at home, come back to class, discuss, and refine their skills.
Our most popular topics are "Positive Parenting" and "How to Talk so Kids will Listen", offering positive approaches to parenting and communication.
