Our mission is to preserve and display the natural and human history of Parkdale-Maplewood and the surrounding communities.
Come visit one of Lunenburg County's best kept secrets and discover the history of Parkdale-Maplewood and the surrounding area. Founded by Thomas I. Spidell in 1953, the museum can be found inland from the Lighthouse Route on the South Shore.
Uncle Tom, as the founder was called, travelled around the world as a missionary and collected unique curios and antiques. Some of these items as well as many tools, textiles, quilts, china, books, photographs, toys and many other items are displayed for your enjoyment.
The museum also includes Heritage Gardens, a research center, educational programs for students, and a gift shop.
