The Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) is committed to giving back to the Canadian IP community through its Patent & Trademark Institute Educational Foundation (PTIEF). The PTIEF is a registered charity with the main objective of encouraging education and scholarship within the field of IP law. The trustees of the Foundation are the executive members of IPIC’s Council.

Currently, the PTIEF awards prizes to students or professionals who achieve the top marks in the Patent Agent and Trademark Agent exams each year. The PTIEF also administers the Gordon Henderson Fund. Its mission is to promote diversity and inclusion by helping remove barriers to access and offer financial support to deserving individuals from under-represented groups that wish to pursue educational opportunities in the field of IP.
