À propos

Your donations will allow us to continue offering life-changing Peaceful relationships to youth/ family/ marriage in our community.

Peacemakers

Formed in 1993 as the Wolfville Community Mediation Society with John Star as its founding President, the organization was incorporated pursuant to the Societies Act (Nova Scotia) on February 25th, 1994. A change of name to Valley Community Mediation Society occurred on July 7th, 1996 as our membership and work had spread across the Annapolis Valley. Due to further growth a second name change to Peacemakers An Association for Alternative Dispute Resolution took place on August 17th, 2000. The next decade saw the group involved in numerous mediations, workshops and training sessions as well as public education.

This donation will go a long way in helping us fulfill our mission. We will be able to ..... :

1. Program Effectiveness: The effectiveness of this program is undeniable. Every dollar you donate to Peacemakres returns $10-12 to the community. Because our recipients, especially youth, are provided with mediation training that is later applied in their careers, they are empowered throughout their careers and in their communities.

2. Program Costs: At Peacemakres, your donation is not a drop in the bucket; every dollar counts. We run free youth and family mediation camps and serve no less than 100 low-income families each year with free marriage and parenting mediation services and workshops to provide and improve their coping attitudes and skills.

3. Project costs: For Peacemakres, we are currently conducting a large-scale conflict study to analyze and make recommendations on conflict situations in the workplace, family and marriage. Therefore, your grant will be of great help to our research.

4. VOLUNTEER BASE: We know that donations are vital to support our professional mediators in recruiting the volunteers they need to provide services to small and large matches, and small matches yet to be matched. And we and our local churches provide Christian mediation training, both online and through on-site seminars. So your support is important!

We appreciate your support in making a big difference in the lives of our Community.
