Peacemakers
Formed in 1993 as the Wolfville Community Mediation Society with John Star as its founding President, the organization was incorporated pursuant to the Societies Act (Nova Scotia) on February 25th, 1994. A change of name to Valley Community Mediation Society occurred on July 7th, 1996 as our membership and work had spread across the Annapolis Valley. Due to further growth a second name change to Peacemakers An Association for Alternative Dispute Resolution took place on August 17th, 2000. The next decade saw the group involved in numerous mediations, workshops and training sessions as well as public education.
We are extremely grateful for this donation, which will greatly assist us in accomplishing our mission. As a result, we will be able to... Thank you for your consideration. The program's effectiveness is demonstrated by the following results: The effectiveness of the program is beyond question.
1. The program's effectiveness is as follows: The program's effectiveness is beyond question. All donations to Peacemakers are allocated directly to community-based frontline mediation and training initiatives. In particular, our complimentary mediation services have proved beneficial to those experiencing emotional distress as a result of conflict.
2. Program Costs: At Peacemakers, your donation is of significant value; every dollar is important to us. We will be hosting free youth and family mediation camps in the future. We have already established a program to provide free marriage and parenting mediation services and workshops to no less than 100 low-income families each year, with the goal of providing and improving their coping attitudes and skills.
3. Project Costs: At Peacemakers, we are currently exploring the possibility of undertaking a comprehensive conflict study with the aim of analysing and providing recommendations on conflict situations in the workplace, family and marriage. We therefore request your financial support to assist with our research. 4. Volunteer Base: We recognize the importance of donations in supporting our professional mediators in recruiting volunteers to serve small and large pairs, as well as small pairs that are not yet paired. We also facilitate Christian mediation training through web and on-site seminars in collaboration with local churches. Your support is invaluable in making a significant impact in the lives of our community members.
