About PEEL CHILDREN'S AID FOUNDATION
Mission: To educate and inspire our community to give and participate in transforming the lives of vulnerable children and youth involved with Peel Children’s Aid.
Peel Children’s Aid Foundation works in partnership with Peel CAS for urgently needed programs that provide financial support, educational opportunities, life skills, and hope to children, youth, and families.
Below you will find details related to our core programs:
THE KIDPOWER! FUND
• Wishes For Kids Program: Opportunities for children and youth to participate in everyday childhood activities such as music lessons, bikes, school trips, graduation etc.
• Holiday Wishes Program: Provide gift cards, winter clothing, toiletries and food vouchers to children, youth, and families during the holidays.
• Back to School Drive: Gives essential school supplies and backpacks to children and teens in kindergarten – Grade 12.
• The Distribution Warehouse: Supplies brand new clothing, infant supplies, basic necessities, and grocery gift cards to children, youth, and families 12 months of the year.
THE FAMILY RELIEF FUND Providing temporary financial assistance for families unable to provide the basic necessities for their children such as food, diapers, clothing and support for rent and unpaid bills.
THE INFANT WELLNESS FUND Assisting in the mental, physical, and emotional development of vulnerable infants and their families. This program supplies cribs, car seats, safety gates, medical and infant supplies with the support from five specially trained Registered Nurses.
THE SKILLS FOR SUCCESS PROGRAM Programs providing bursaries for post-secondary education and essential life skills for future success. • Bursary Program – Scholarships to aid youth in attaining their dreams through post-secondary education. • Independence Program – Training programs in a variety of subjects such as financial literacy, job skills development, cultural pride, stress management, etc., to aid youth in developing the skills needed to move successfully into adulthood. Youth are directly involved in developing the programs and advising the agency about their needs.
