Mission

The mission of People for a Healthy Community is to provide services and support to Gabriolans throughout their lives, especially at vulnerable points, to improve their health and quality of life in a manner that builds community, maintains dignity and challenges inequities. Through its own initiatives and in collaboration with others, PHC programming includes:

● Food programs ranging from elementary nutrition to family grocery support to senior lunches

● Seniors’ programs ranging from adult activity days to aging in place support

● Providing access to services such as advocacy, caregiver support, hospice, physical and mental health, and transportation

​PHC programs and services have touched 1 in 7 Gabriola residents.
