P.R.I.M.E. MENTORS OF CANADA FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CREATIVE POTENTIALS

À propos

"From children at risk to children of promise".

Prime Mentors of Canada delivers a special mentoring program using the experience of mature (Positive, Responsible, Inspiring, Multi-talented, Exemplary) adults to enhance the development of at-risk creative children. This program helps to level the playing field for under-served and underprivileged bright youth in order that they can develop their God-given potential.  Prime Mentors is committed to nurturing and promoting curiosity, imagination and creativity in young people.  This kind of experience drives innovations and contributes to our collective economic growth and prosperity.

Prime Mentors of Canada helps children meet the challenges of the 21st century.  We promote lifelong learning and want children to think, learn, create and care through the following programs:

  *  Project oriented one-on-one mentoring, based on strengths and interests.  This bolsters self-confidence while developing research, communications and problem-solving skills.  Pre-adolescent students in Grades 5-8 are matched with mentors to work on a research project for a period of three-four months.  The partnerships meet for one hour per week at the child's school.  When the project is completed, the student presents it to the class.
*  Children's scholarships to provide an incentive to pursue post-secondary education.  This promotes a CAN DO attitude and encourages dreaming big.
*  Annual Youth Conference to develop leadership and creative thinking skills.  This fosters thinking out-of-the-box, teamwork and stress management.
*  Community-Building Grants to encourage creative problem-solving. This encourages students to identify problems in their schools and implement a plan for improvement.
This program extends appreciation to the mentors in various ways including an annual luncheon and special tributes to mentors.
