PEPtBO is a member of the Canadian Migration Monitoring Network and is caretaker of the South Shore IBA.
PEPtBO is committed to increasing the appreciation, knowledge and understanding of birds by monitoring spring and fall migrations through bird banding, daily census counts, and research projects. We provide the community with opportunities to support and engage in the conservation of bird populations and habitats and provide educational programs to children and families. We are part of the Canadian Migration Monitoring Network and are caretakers of the Prince Edward County South Shore Important Bird and Biodiversity Area. The Observatory is open to the public from April 15th to October 30th.
