The Pro-Choice Society of Lethbridge & Southern Alberta ("Pro-Choice YQL") is a volunteer run organization serving Albertans south of Calgary. We have a telephone hotline for information about abortion, birth control, and reproductive health. We help connect people so that they can access abortion services, including surgical abortion and the abortion pill. Our work also includes connecting with doctors to encourage them to provide prescriptions for the abortion pill (mifegymiso) to patients who need it, and teaching doctors and health care providers about this medication. While abortion is legal and covered by Alberta Health Services in Alberta, that does not mean it is always accessible.
