Our Mission

At Project Canoe, we use the wilderness canoe trip as a vehicle to nurture, develop and empower youth who face barriers in their lives. Our participants are given a break from their normal context in a therapeutic wilderness setting. The canoe trip is a journey that aids in their self-discovery, and helps them chart positive futures for themselves and their communities. While discovering a passion for nature, conservation and the outdoors, youth also learn positive social skills and how to manage significant personal challenges.

About Project Canoe

Project Canoe (Creative and Natural Outdoor Experience Inc.) provides a variety of wilderness canoe trips for youth at risk (aged 13-17). These are youth who would not ordinarily have the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities with their peers due to learning, social, behavioural and/or economic difficulties. Project Canoe is a registered charity (# 88924 9488 RR 0001) and is an accredited member of the Ontario Camping Association.
