A Farewell with a Legacy of Hope
After 42 years of serving the Toronto community, we are writing to let you know that the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) will be winding down its operations over the next six months, with our final day being March 31, 2026.
This decision was not made lightly. While it is bittersweet, it comes after years of financial challenges and a changing HIV landscape. We are incredibly proud of the impact we've made in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Thanks to groundbreaking advances in prevention and treatment, people living with HIV are living longer, fuller lives, and we are hopeful for a future where HIV is no longer a barrier.
Your continued support is vital in these final months. All funds raised now will be used to ensure a dignified and orderly closure. Specifically, your donations will help us:
-
Keep our programs running until our very last day.
-
Provide support to our staff during this transition.
-
Assist our clients in connecting with other agencies and resources.
-
Support the transfer of programs and resources to other organizations, ensuring that our legacy of care continues.
We want to thank you for your unwavering support. Your generosity has been a cornerstone of our work, helping us provide support, education, and advocacy to thousands. Your contributions have made a tangible difference, and our legacy is a testament to the power of a caring community.
