Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre is a world-class, not-for-profit education and research facility located in the traditional territories of the Huu-ay-aht First Nations, on the outer west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada.
Our vision is to create opportunities for life-changing exploration and discovery in coastal and marine environments. We offer many accredited university field courses ranging from marine and terrestrial ecology to environmental law to scientific film-making, while our K-12 Field Trip Program provides over 3000 students from BC and Alberta annually with multi-day, immersive, educational experiences in nature. We support top researchers from around the world to address grand challenges with fundamental research on ecology, evolution, climate change, conservation, biodiversity, fish physiology, fluid dynamics, archaeology, aquaculture, and invasive species.
Please join us in creating and supporting this diverse community of learners and leaders at BMSC. Donations are used where the need is the greatest and help us enhance our unparalleled access to the natural and cultural sites where the major scientific questions and challenges of the 21st century persist.
