The BC Network of CYACs advances best practice system responses to children and youth who have experienced abuse and violence.
The BC Network of Child and Youth Advocacy Centres supports the work of community-level child and youth advocacy centres (CYACs). The BC Network takes on work that benefits all CYACs, such as: advocating for systemic and provincial policy change, providing training for multidisciplinary teams on advanced tactics for responding to child victims of abuse, developing communication and other resources, and supporting CYAC leaders as they develop relationships with their local partnerships and build service pathways for children in their community. In this way, the BC Network takes on work that would otherwise be duplicated many times over across the province, ensuring that CYACs are well-resourced and simultaneously able to concentrate their energy and limited resources on maintaining their partnerships, and providing direct service to children and families.
