cc4ms is developing a dedicated treatment centre in Calgary to help and support adult male survivors - the 1 in 6 of men who have been sexually abused before the age of 18.
We have selected 16 therapists (15 in Calgary and 1 in Edmonton) with experience in the field and who want to increase their expertise. While we also help individual survivors, we have formed partnerships with 16 service agencies - Southern Alberta HIV Clinic, AIDS Calgary, Simon House, Fresh START, 1835, John Howard Society, The Distress Centre, Jewish Family Services, CMHA - Canadian Mental Health Association, AHS's mental health clinics and the Wellness Centres at our post-secondary institutions.
Our goals are: HEAR - Healing; Education (public & healthcare professionals); Advocacy; and Research.
1 in 6 men..... and only four dedicated treatment centres in Canada.
To crash the silence and start to crush the stigma, our Magnificent Men!Leadership Lunches feature men who have succeeded in their careers and actively contributed to their community. These champions include Ken Dryden, Jim Gray, Bob Schulz, Justice Jack Major, Doug Mitchell, Jon Cornish, Honourable Ron Ghitter, Grant Bartlett, Peter Maher, Hon. Frank McKenna, Dr. Dean Vause, Dave Mowat, Brian Burke, Jim Button and Peter Mansbridge. We are very grateful for their support and that of our guests in raising this issue and taking action to support survivors.
The cost for one session is $150. Your donation, whether it be singular or monthly, will help a survivor achieve healing.
