Our mission is to enable work opportunities and provide skills development for individuals facing barriers to employment.
About Our Charity
Since 1935, Goodwill’s mission is to enable work opportunities and provide skills development for people facing barriers to employment, including persons with disabilities, youth, the chronically unemployed and newcomers to Canada.
Goodwill is committed to job training, transferable skills development, and work placements through our programs and services. Our innovative programs enable people who face employment barriers to access work by providing them with an opportunity to get the necessary experience required to secure future employment. Goodwill aims to improve each individual’s employability in preparation for entry into the labour market by providing training, workshops and employment placements through our Workforce Development services. Goodwill enables and creates work by operating Community Retail Stores and Donation Centres, and by providing Creative, Environment and Janitorial Services.
Goodwill’s vision is an Ontario where everyone has the opportunity to participate and contribute through the power of work. Meaningful employment and training opportunities are a potent force for turning things around for a person who has experienced employment barriers or chronic unemployment. When you donate to Goodwill, your donation has the potential to help someone find a job, strengthen a community, and preserve the planet.
