MONTRÉAL WALKS for mental health is a foundation whose mission is to increase public awareness about mental health and eliminate stigma and discrimination towards people who live with a mental illness and those who support them. The foundation fulfills its mission through the organization of an annual walk.
About MONTRÉAL WALKS FOR MENTAL HEALTH
The walk was organized for the first time in 2009 in Côte St. Luc where more than 600 people participated. Since then the walk has been held in downtown Montreal (Philips Square) and has grown consistently to over 1,400 walkers each year! More than $35,000 has been distributed to local community organizations, helping them to provide much needed mental health services throughout Montreal.
The MONTRÉAL WALKS for Mental Health Foundation is comprised of a group of organizations who are focused on raising public awareness about mental health and the stigma that still surrounds mental illness and offering services to people living with mental illness and their families.
