Our Mission
Encouraging and supporting environmental and cultural education, more specifically through programs and initiatives at the North Vancouver Outdoor School, has been the goal of the NVOSAS since it formed in 1988. Through programs such as the Outdoor School for Kids Bursary Fund, the Outdoor School Alumni Scholarship and the Senior Counselor internship, the NVOSAS has been able to support the principle of universal access to the environmental and cultural programs available through the school.
About NORTH VANCOUVER OUTDOOR SCHOOL ALUMNI SOCIETY
The North Vancouver Outdoor School Alumni Society (NVOSAS) was formed in 1988 and is free and open to any individual who has an interest in the activities of the NVOSAS and/or the North Vancouver Outdoor School.
The North Vancouver Outdoor School, located beside the Cheakamus River north of Squamish, provides unique educational experiences, helping students to understand their role in a sustainable environment and economy. Each year over 5,000 students from grades 1 through 12 enjoy the 165 hectare site encompassing salmon spawning channels, ponds, 1000 year old cedars and panoramic bluffs.
