Help welcome 42 new neighbours home.
This fall, 42 new supportive and rent-geared-to-income homes open at 11 Brock Avenue for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Parkdale Activity-Recreation Centre (PARC) will operate the building, selected by the City of Toronto.
A neighbour-led Welcome Committee has formed to greet new tenants as they arrive. Every welcome package costs about $200 and provides essentials for these new tenants: linens, towels, pillows, kitchen basics, cleaning supplies, and personal care items. Forty-two homes means a goal of $8,400.
$200 furnishes one home. Any amount moves us closer.
Your gift is received and receipted by PARC and goes toward welcome packages for tenants arriving in late 2026 and early 2027. If gifts exceed what is needed, funds will support PARC's supportive housing program to continue providing on-site supports to tenants in rent-geared-to-income homes.
About PARC
PARC has worked alongside people living with mental health challenges, homelessness, and poverty in Parkdale since 1980. We operate seven supportive housing buildings with 109 units, and a drop-in centre at 1499 Queen Street West serving two meals a day, alongside case management, harm reduction, recreation, and employment supports. Supportive housing is permanent, affordable housing with staff on site. People do better when they have a safe place to live and a community where they belong.
