The Stratford Public Library Foundation was established in 1998 to raise funds to assist the Stratford Public Library Board in the delivery of its programs. Its mission is to "[ensure] the highest possible quality of library services for the community served by the Stratford Public Library. Specific emphasis shall be placed on maintaining equity of access to library services and on funding programs that will enhance the Library's role and mission."
The mission of the Stratford Public Library is to be "an equitable, safe and welcoming environment where anyone can explore, learn, create and connect."
The Foundation's two main activities to date have been fundraising for the Public Library on Wheels outreach literacy service, and creating an endowment fund that will in the future provide revenue to the Library in support of its programs.
