“GivingTuesday has become a really important part of our yearly calendar. It is a great opportunity for us, not only for fundraising but for connecting with our community of donors and volunteers both online and in person.”
“We are incredibly humbled by the way our community continues to support us on GivingTuesday each year. We’ve raised over $1.5 million in the last seven years to support our network of food banks, meal programs, and shelters across Nova Scotia.”
“Our GivingTuesday initiative was simply to thank our entire network — donors, volunteers, and loyal supporters — while launching our holiday appeal. We raised over $7,500 in online donations on GivingTuesday!”
GivingTuesday takes place annually, on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. In 2026, GivingTuesday will take place in Canada and worldwide on Tuesday, December 1, 2026.
The dates for the next three years are:
2027: Tuesday, November 30
2028: Tuesday, November 28
2029: Tuesday, December 4
GivingTuesday is the world’s largest generosity movement. Founded in 2012, its goal is to establish an annual day dedicated to giving. CanadaHelps, GIV3, and several other founding partners introduced GivingTuesday to Canada the following year. Close to 100 countries take part in their own national GivingTuesday movements each year.
Individuals and families, social enterprises, companies, brands, community groups, schools, and others are encouraged to participate. Visit GivingTuesday for donors for more information.
